When Annie's best friend Em dies in a car accident, the god-awful funeral Em's parents hold is almost as terrible as the accident itself. As the adult choir boy piously bleats religious hymns, Annie imagines Em bursting out of her coffin and choking him into blessed silence.

'This is no way to say goodbye to someone' Annie thinks. 'Something should be done.'

And so Annie leaves behind her mainly-unemployed life to become a DEATH DOULA - helping people out of life with style and compassion‚

Death Doula is a dark comedy hybrid live-action/animation proof of concept pilot about the funny, sad, dirty ways we deal with death and dying.
